Alfredo and I met many years
ago, when he was cooking for our hunting party in a Colorado spike camp.
A native of Sonora, Mexico, Alfredo grew up in a family of incredible
"cocineros y cocineras," and wowed us all with the most delicious food I
have ever experienced in any single hunting camp. After stealing as many
of his recipes as possible, we became fast friends and remained in
touch, and I have since had the pleasure of visiting his home in
Hermosillo, meeting his wonderful family, and touring his family's
"ranchos." Alfredo has now guided professionally in Alaska for almost
ten years, helping clients harvest brown bear and moose, and as well he
guides seasonal fishing trips for giant halibut and salmon. During the
winter months, he can be found on various ranches across Sonora, guiding
Desert Mule Deer and Coues deer hunters, as well as those in pursuit of
Desert Bighorn Sheep. Wherever you are in camp with Alfredo, you are in
good hands. |
